Timberline Pass Panorama
Timberline Pass Panorama, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
From Timberline Pass, along the Ute Trail about two miles from Trail Ridge Road, the entire Rocky Mountain National Park skyline is revealed. From left to right, an experienced eye can pick out Longs Peak, Pagoda Mountain, Chiefs Head Peak, McHenrys Peak, Powell Peak, Taylor Peak, Hallett Peak, Flattop Mountain and Notchtop Mountain. The pass was named by Roger Toll, superintendent of Rocky Mountain National Park from 1921 to 1929. Under Toll’s leadership, the park boundaries were expanded to include the Never Summer Mountains to the west.
