11x14 loose print of Vestal Basin Sunset
In the summer of 2005, after postponing my trip for three years
because of wildfires, I did a five-day, solo, off-trail backpacking trip through the heart of the Needle and Grenadier Mountains
of southwest Colorado. Of all the photos I made on my journey, this image, taken at sunset in Vestal Basin, invokes
the strongest memories of a very special place.
